The Fishing Lodge
Two bedroom self-catering accommodation with course fishing on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Overlook the wildlife pond and fish on the lake at the bottom of the garden. Five minute drive from Pocklington. Twenty five minutes from York. From £125 per night. Sorry, no pets.
The Accommodation:
Open dining room with log burning fire, large breakfast bar which can seat up to eight. Two bedrooms, one en-suite. A separate bathroom has a bath and shower. Wide screen TV (internet TV only) and DVD player. Board games, DVD's and books in various drawers and shelves. Tents can be put up in the back garden with prior arrangement. The driveway has room for several cars.
The Fishing Pond
The fishing pond contains carp, F1's, bream, tench, roach and perch. There are two exclusive swims to fish on the near bank, and two on the far bank.
The Wildlife Pond
The wildlife pond is a haven for all kinds of birds, insects and amphibians. Ducks, moorhens and coots are daily visitors. Frogs, toads and common newts are inhabitants. Herons, kingfishers and terns are regular visitors to the fishing pond depending on the time of year. Grey squirrels can be seen most days and the occasional rabbit. Red kites and buzzards are often hovering above the garden. Roe deer can sometimes be seen in the field beoyond the fishing pond at dawn and dusk.
Outdoor Ativities
There is a fire pit in the back garden and a supply of wood.
There is also a slightly warped and well used full size table tennis table, boules, and badminton set. Bikes are available (at your own risk).
